NEW YORK, April 18 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- The United States (US) dollar weakened in late trading on Friday, reported Xinhua.
The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major peers, dropped 0.12 per cent to 98.098 at 3 pm (1900 GMT).
In late New York trading, the euro rose to US$1.1790 from US$1.1774 in the previous session, and the British pound increased to US$1.3544 from US$1.3525 in the previous session.
The US dollar bought 158.24 Japanese yen, lower than 159.26 Japanese yen in the previous session.
The US dollar declined to 0.7801 Swiss francs from 0.7844 Swiss francs, and it was down to 1.3676 Canadian dollars from 1.3706 Canadian dollars.
The US dollar lost to 9.1396 Swedish kronor from 9.2051 Swedish kronor.
