KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) -- The Embassy of Iran in Malaysia has launched the Shajra Tayyiba Campaign, a humanitarian initiative to mobilise support from Malaysians to deliver aid to affected communities in Iran following the Feb 28 attack on the country.

The embassy said the campaign, named in memory of the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls’ elementary school in Minab, which was struck on the first day of the joint US-Israel offensive, seeks to send 168 containers of humanitarian assistance to those affected by the ongoing conflict.

“The campaign is named in memory of the 168 children and staff reportedly killed in the school attack.

“All collected aid will be channelled through the Iranian Red Crescent Society,” an embassy official said when contacted by Bernama.

In a post on X, the embassy said that the campaign aims to gather vital humanitarian supplies for those affected by the severe consequences of the war in Iran.

“We invite compassionate individuals from all walks of life to join our community-driven effort to provide humanitarian aid to those impacted by the US-Israeli conflict in Iran.

“This is a moment for humanity to exemplify unity and sympathy. Every contribution, no matter how small, can have a profound impact on lives in need. Together, let us bring relief and hope to those suffering from this devastating crisis. Your support can make a critical difference,” it said.

Members of the public can contribute by donating to the designated account under the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, account number 564428000986 (Maybank).
