Singapore, April 21 (Bernama) -- Singapore registered a total of 410 dengue cases in the first quarter (1Q) of 2026, a 29.2 per cent decline compared to the previous quarter, said the National Environment Agency (NEA).

In its quarterly dengue surveillance data released on Tuesday, it reported one death during the January-March period, with a total of 24 dengue clusters identified.

Of the 24 clusters, 22 were closed within the same period and the number of identified clusters decreased by about 56 per cent compared to the previous quarter.

"NEA detected over 1,900 Aedes mosquito breeding habitats in the quarter, a decrease of about 36 per cent compared to the previous quarter.

"Results of positive dengue samples serotyped between Jan and Mar 2026 indicated that DEN-2 accounted for the majority of the typed samples, followed by DEN-3, DEN-1 and DEN-4," it said.

According to the NEA, over 4,000 dengue cases were reported in 2025, about 70 per cent lower than the number of cases reported in 2024.
