BEIRUT, April 23 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Israeli ceasefire violations have destroyed 428 housing units in southern Lebanon over the past three days, Lebanon’s National Council for Scientific Research said Wednesday,  Anadolu Ajansi reported.

The figures were presented in a report released during an event marking the launch of a “strategic framework for environmental recovery after the war.”

The council said an additional 50 housing units were damaged during the same period.

It added that during 46 days of Israeli assaults before the recent ceasefire, 17,756 housing units were completely destroyed, while 32,668 others were damaged.

The Israeli army has also continued demolishing and blowing up homes in some towns it occupies in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s official news agency.

Since March 2, Israel has expanded its attacks in Lebanon, killing 2,454 people, wounding 7,658, and displacing over 1 million others, according to official figures.

Lebanon and Israel on April 15 held talks at the ambassadorial level in Washington, their first in 43 years.

The sides are set to hold a second round of negotiations in Washington on Thursday, a senior Lebanese source told Anadolu.
