25/04/2026 07:36 PM

CAIRO, April 25 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- More than 800 Palestinians have been killed in the Gaza Strip since a ceasefire agreement took effect in October 2025, the Gaza Health Ministry said on Saturday.

"Since the ceasefire, 809 people have been killed and 2,267 have been wounded," the ministry's statement read.

The ministry added that 17 people have been killed and 32 wounded in Gaza by Israeli strikes over the past 48 hours.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Palestinian movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip took effect on October 10.

Hamas representative Ghazi Hamad said that the Israeli army had violated the ceasefire hundreds of times.

Since a conflict erupted between Hamas and Israel in October 2023, over 70,000 Palestinians have been killed and more than 170,000 others have been wounded.

Regional and international organisations estimate that the reconstruction of the devastated enclave will take at least a decade and will require around US$70 billion.
