HYDERABAD, May 12 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will participate in the BRICS foreign ministers' meeting being held in New Delhi on May 14 and15.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan is expected to arrive in the Indian capital on Wednesday, a Malaysian diplomat at the High Commission told Bernama.

The meeting will be chaired by India's External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal told a media briefing in New Delhi.

The member nations will exchange views on “global and regional issues of mutual interest” on Thursday, while on Friday the BRICS ministers and representatives of partner countries will participate in a session themed “BRICS at 20: Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability” followed by a discussion on “the reforms of global governance and multilateral system,” Jaiswal added.

Malaysia is a partner country of the organisation whose members are Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa and the United Arab Emirates.

India will host the group's leadership summit later this year.
