MOSCOW, June 10 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- French President Emmanuel Macron has invited Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Qatari Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to attend next week's G7 summit, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported, citing Politico.
The Politico report said the two Gulf leaders were invited to join the talks to discuss security and the resumption of shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Qatari emir has accepted the invitation, while it remains unclear whether the Saudi crown prince will attend, according to the report.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is also expected to participate in the talks as a representative of a G7 partner country, Politico reported.
The G7 leaders’ summit is scheduled to be held next week in Evian, France.
