SHAH ALAM, Dec 16 (Bernama) --  The Selangor government will donate RM500,000 to Kelantan as support aid to help with recovery efforts following last month’s floods.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the allocation will be tabled at the State Executive Council (MMKN) meeting this Wednesday for final approval.

“This support aid will be used to repair damaged infrastructure and other affected facilities. Through the Selangor Prihatin Fund, we provide assistance to disaster-affected areas, including Kelantan,” he told reporters after officiating the Disaster Aid Mission, Ihsan MADANI Squad: Selangor-Kelantan Post-Flood Assistance, at the Selangor State Secretariat Building here today.

He added that the state government has mobilised the Ihsan MADANI squad,  comprising local authorities (PBT) staff and volunteers, to assist with post-flood recovery efforts in Kelantan.

The mission, involving 130 personnel and 45 vehicles, will focus on cleaning operations from tomorrow until Thursday.

The team also includes Selangor’s waste management company, KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM), which will handle the cleanup of public infrastructure and homes affected by the disaster.

KDEBWM managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir said the company has deployed 21 personnel and five Roll-On Roll-Off (RoRo) trucks for the mission and is ready to provide additional manpower and resources if required.
