Bollywood Actor Saif Ali Khan Injured In Knife Attack At Mumbai Home

NEW DELHI, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- Bollywood star Saif Ali Khan was injured in a knife attack at his home in Mumbai's Bandra suburb.

The 54-year-old received multiple wounds during a robbery attempt around 2.30 am on Thursday, local media reported.

Mumbai police said the attacker fled after other people in the house woke up.

The actor was brought to Lilavati Hospital around  3.30 am for treatment.

"He has six injuries, two of which are deeper. One of the injuries is closer to his spine. We are operating on him," senior hospital official Dr Niraj Uttamani was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times newspaper.

Saif, who is married to actress Kareena Kapoor, lives in the Mumbai home with their two children.
