KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 25 (Bernama) -- Popular hip-hop artiste Noki K-Clique has been steadily winning over fans with his rising presence in the acting scene, especially since his debut in the film War On Terror: KL Anarki two years ago.

The 30-year-old, whose real name is Ahmad Ikhwan Aji, is proving his versatility in Malaysia's film industry as he returns to the big screen, taking on the role of Safwan in the newly released movie Soloz: Game Of Life.

Starring alongside Hun Haqeem, who plays the lead role of Soloz, Noki said that the character of Safwan, a young man from Sabah living in Kuala Lumpur, has its unique appeal, making him eager to participate in this film directed by Syafiq Yusof.

While Safwan’s role may seem simple as a gamer and Soloz’s best friend, Noki shared that certain scenes were particularly challenging, especially those involving emotional conflicts with Safwan’s father, which required him to cry.

“Honestly, during the dubbing process, I didn’t feel much emotion. But once everything was finalised with the background music, the tears came naturally,” he shared.

“Alhamdulillah, that scene was impactful. Even I could feel it, and InsyaAllah, it will resonate with everyone who watches Soloz,” he said.

Aspiring to be recognised as a versatile actor, Noki is eager to explore a variety of roles that challenge his acting skills, with action scenes, being a long-held dream of his.

“From the beginning of my acting journey, I’ve always been drawn to action roles, especially those that involve hand-to-hand combat.

“I’ve already played a psychotic character, but if opportunities arise in the future, I’d love to take on a fighting role,” he told Bernama after the recent Gala Premiere of Soloz: Game Of Life.

Although steadily making a name for himself in the acting world, the Kota Kinabalu-born star has no plans to leave the music industry. He is committed to pursuing both careers simultaneously.

The former champion of the 35th Anugerah Juara Lagu (AJL) with the hit song Gila - who performed alongside Kaka Azraf and Loca B - shared that music is deeply embedded in his soul, and he has no plans to abandon it.

“To be honest, I love both. My entry into the industry started with rap and music, which are my roots. I will never leave them. But when new opportunities arise, I enjoy exploring them,” he said, adding that he plans to release a new single this year.
