AEON Bank Wins 2 Islamic Finance News Awards

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 28 (Bernama) – Malaysia's first Islamic digital bank AEON Bank won the "Best Islamic Digital Bank (Global)" and "Best Islamic Digital Offering by a Bank (Malaysia)" at the recent Islamic Finance News (IFN) Awards via an IFN best bank poll.

In a statement today, AEON Bank Bhd said this year's edition received over 17,500 votes for 13 global categories and four domestic categories, including Best Bank Awards, Non-banking Financial Institutions Awards, Law Awards, Service Providers Awards, and Deals of the Year Awards.

“A total of 101 winners were honoured at two award ceremonies held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Feb 17, and Kuala Lumpur on Feb 20,” the statement added.

“The awards saw a mix of nominees, with the Middle East leading the pack," the statement continued.

It also said AEON Bank now offers digital personal banking products and services, including savings accounts-i, AEON Bank Visa Debit Card-i, "Savings Pots" with optimisation features, digital payment services with strategic partners such as DuitNow by PayNet, utility bill payments, and AI-powered budgeting insights.

“AEON Bank also introduced Neko Missions, Malaysia’s first interactive rewards programme and AEON points loyalty programme integrated within AEON's retail ecosystem.

“AEON Bank will (soon) introduce more personal banking products and business banking services for local entrepreneurs and micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Malaysia, enabling them to grow and thrive in an increasingly competitive omnichannel business landscape,” the statement said.

AEON Bank will also continue to develop new products to serve a wider demographic, while focusing on user-friendly digital experiences and online customer touchpoints, the statement said.

It also said AEON Bank is committed to fostering a more inclusive financial future, helping customers to achieve economic independence and contribute to fintech-driven Islamic banking in the region and Malaysia's digital economy.
