KUALA LUMPUR, March 11 (Bernama) – Netizens have expressed their pride as the song Anta Permana, performed by Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin, has been included in the personal playlist of Britain’s King Charles III.

The song, which was released in 2018, is part of The King’s Music Room programme on Apple Music in conjunction with Commonwealth Day celebrations.

This achievement is seen as proof that Malaysian music can transcend international borders.

On Instagram, user @i.am.khairul.anwar congratulated Hael and Ezra for producing a world-class piece that is appreciated by international listeners, calling their work "valuable and exclusive."

Meanwhile, @Md.ikmns commented that Anta Permana has a melody and lyrics that give off a "royal vibe."

On Facebook, Adam Adnan remarked, "Wow, this is no ordinary feat—perfectly fitting for Siti’s level… Her voice is legendary, the true voice of a Malay star."

Instagram user @NurAinfleur wrote, “There are 56 Commonwealth countries, but only 17 songs made it to the playlist, and only four are non-English songs… Clearly, the selection wasn't just because Malaysia is a Commonwealth country."

Meanwhile, Siti Nurhaliza expressed her joy, pride, and gratitude upon learning that Anta Permana was included in King Charles III’s personal playlist.

"Music transcends culture, race, and language. I never expected Anta Permana to be chosen, and at the same time, for King Charles III to know that the song is about love," she shared in a radio interview video posted on her Instagram.

The song’s composer, Hael Hussaini, also did not expect the track, which he co-wrote with Ezra Kong, to be selected.

"Alhamdulillah, proud (to be Malaysian)," Hael wrote in an Instagram caption, accompanied by a Malaysian flag emoji.

The British monarch’s curated selection is compiled on Apple Music under the title His Majesty King Charles III’s Playlist, featuring a mix of music from around the world.

This iconic song is listed alongside performances by 16 other artistes, including Bob Marley, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Beyoncé, and Michael Bublé.

With a total runtime of one hour and ten minutes, the personal playlist of this globally influential figure has also been shared exclusively on The Royal Family’s official social media accounts.
