KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Suria KLCC Group is brightening up the atmosphere with a campaign themed 'Lotus of Light', to celebrate the beauty of culture, unity and community spirit across its three shopping centres: Suria KLCC, Alamanda Shopping Centre and Mesra Mall.
It said in a statement that the campaign will run from Oct 6-22 in conjunction with Deepavali, which will be celebrated on Oct 20, to drive foot traffic at all three of its properties (malls).
“The lotus flower is the perfect inspiration for this year’s Deepavali. Our theme ‘Lotus of Light’ is to create an immersive and unforgettable experience that will bring together Malaysians from all walks of life.
“From the central decoration at the iconic Suria KLCC to the community-focused celebrations at Alamanda and Mesra Mall, we are truly delighted to welcome everyone to share in the joy of Deepavali,” said Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Francis Tan in the same statement.
According to the statement, Suria KLCC’s Centre Court will be transformed into a captivating garden with a giant, illuminated lotus flower as the grand decoration, surrounded by colourful kolam ponds and interactive lighting, accompanied by two multi-tiered lotus-shaped kolam on each side and a large lotus arch at the back, offering a stunning photo-worthy opportunity.
Visitors can also savour culture with classical Bharatanatyam dance performances throughout the campaign and join in on a special Henna Painting Workshop on Deepavali day (Oct 20).
Exclusive rewards also await Suria KLCC shoppers who spend more than RM1,000 in two receipts to receive a Suria KLCC e-voucher worth RM50. Purchasing an e-voucher worth RM1,000 on its website will entitle shoppers to receive an additional RM100 e-voucher.
In Putrajaya, the Alamanda Shopping Centre also brightens up the celebration with a ‘Lotus of Light’ themed decoration at the Centre Court featuring a lotus pond design and illuminated floral arches, perfect as a backdrop for family photos.
“The Alamanda is also continuing its Green Ribbon Pin Sale initiative aimed at raising funds and raising awareness about mental health through collaboration with selected NGOs (non-governmental organisations),” the statement said.
The Alamanda is also giving special rewards to shoppers who spend RM500 or more in two receipts to receive an Alamanda e-voucher worth RM30 and RM1,500 and above in two receipts to receive a RM80 e-voucher.
In Terengganu, the decoration at Mesra Mall, the premium destination for shoppers on the east coast, is also inspired by the lotus flower which will adorn the mall's concourse (foyer), creating a colourful atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
"As a symbol of unity, this campaign expresses Mesra Mall's commitment to recognising and celebrating Malaysia's cultural diversity, so that the spirit of Deepavali can be felt by every visitor regardless of background," added the statement.
