Tracey's 'Litter Rally' For Pan Borneo Catches Fire With Works Minister

14/10/2025 10:27 PM

SIBU, Oct 14 (Bernama) -- Social media content creator Tracey E. Hughes expressed her appreciation to the Ministry of Works (KKR) and its minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi over their support for the small civic effort she has undertaken to rally Sarawakians to help with road cleanliness.

Tracey, who is a Bau resident, was touched by the recognition given by the minister, who praised her initiative today, and is ready to work with him to gain more traction for public awareness of cleanliness, following her endeavour in picking up litter along the Pan Borneo Highway through the #CleanUpPanBorneo movement.

“What we are doing is just a small part of the joint efforts of the people of Sarawak who want to see our state cleaner, safer and more beautiful,” she said in the comments section of a statement made by Nanta on her Facebook page.

Tracey also welcomed Nanta’s intention to hold a meeting to discuss potential further collaboration, including appointing the stoic lady as part of the team for MYJalan Ambassador initiative.

For the record, Nanta launched the Works Ministry's campaign themed 'Jum Jaga Pan Borneo Bait-Bait' for Awareness of Cleanliness on Pan Borneo Sarawak Highway in August.

She also hopes more Sarawakians can be mobilised to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the Pan Borneo Highway through the spirit of gotong-royong and civic awareness.

“Thank you again for the concern and enthusiasm shown. Hopefully we can work together to mobilise more citizens to take care of Pan Borneo 'bait-bait' (well),” she said.
