KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 27 (Bernama) -- Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and the monitoring of foreign nationals granted long-term visas are among the main issues in focus at today’s Dewan Rakyat sitting.
According to the Order Paper on the Parliament's website, Datuk Adnan Abu Hassan (BN-Kuala Pilah) will ask the Health Minister about the ministry’s initiatives to reduce the burden of NCDs such as diabetes, hypertension and obesity through an integrated approach that includes promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening primary healthcare services.
He will also seek clarification on cross-ministerial cooperation to ensure the effectiveness of public health interventions nationwide, during the question-and-answer session.
At the same session, Mohd Hasnizan Harun (PN-Hulu Selangor) will ask the Home Minister to outline the monitoring and enforcement measures for foreign nationals granted long-term visas or participating in the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) Programme to ensure compliance with national laws and prevent involvement in activities that could threaten public safety.
Meanwhile, Datuk Wan Saifulruddin Wan Jan (PN-Tasek Gelugor) will ask the Investment, Trade and Industry Minister about the steps taken and planned to enable ASEAN to reduce non-tariff barriers, thereby supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in the region.
After the question-and-answer session, the Dewan Rakyat sitting will continue with debate on the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026.
