PUTRAJAYA, Oct 27 (Bernama) — The Chief Registrar's Office of Malaysia's Federal Court has announced that High Court judge K. Muniandy was sworn in as a Court of Appeal judge today.
In a ceremony held at the Palace of Justice, the 64-year-old judge from Negeri Sembilan took his oath of office and loyalty before Court of Appeal president, Datuk Abu Bakar Jais.
Muniandy holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Master of Laws, both from Universiti Malaya.
He began his legal career in 1980, serving as a federal counsel in the Legal Affairs Division of the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) until 1984.
His extensive career includes posts as a magistrate, deputy public prosecutor, deputy head of the AGC’s Prosecution Division (Policy), and director of the Legal Profession Qualifying Board.
He was appointed as a judicial commissioner in 2019, confirmed as a High Court Judge in 2022, and served at the Kuala Lumpur High Court (Criminal Division 2) prior to his elevation to the Court of Appeal.
