Sultan Nazrin Receives Business Tithe Worth More Than RM5.8 Mln

IPOH, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, graciously consented to receive business zakat (tithe) amounting to RM5,831,264.89 from eight corporate companies for Zakat Perak Al Ridzuan (ZAPAR) at a ceremony held in Istana Kinta, here today.

The zakat presentation was led by Felcra Berhad Perak, represented by its state director, M. Zaiful Anuar Zulkifli, with a sum of RM1,483,830.20, followed by Ipoh Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd, represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Badrul Hisyam Ibrahim, who presented zakat totalling RM1,046,469.00.

Also presenting zakat were the Chairman of Koperasi Kemajuan Tanah Perak Berhad, Datuk Mohammed Akhiar Ahmad Wazir Affandi, with a total of RM114,092.44, and Koperasi Perladangan Kawasan Bagan Datoh Perak Berhad, represented by its chairman, Salleh Hudin Kamarudin, who presented zakat amounting to RM1,784,234.13.

In addition, Koperasi Warisan Pegawai Hutan Melayu Negeri Perak Berhad, represented by Nor Sharifuddin Yeop Sabar, who is performing the duties of chairman, presented zakat amounting to RM490,969.59, while KPJ Sri Manjung Specialist Hospital, represented by its Chief Executive Officer Muhammad Tareq Mamat, presented zakat amounting to RM181,000.00.

Also presenting business zakat were Metropolitan Utilities Corporation Sdn Bhd, represented by its Operations General Manager, Mohd Khairiri Mohamed Zubir, with a sum of RM321,218.00, and YP Nominees Holdings Sdn Bhd, represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Rozita Ramli, with zakat amounting to RM409,451.53.

Sultan Nazrin then graciously consented to hand over the zakat to the President of the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), Tan Sri Mohd Annuar Zaini.

At the same ceremony, Sultan Nazrin also graciously presented the letter of appointment (watikah pelantikan) to MAIPk member, Selwah Said.
