Johawaki Group MD And CEO Johari Mat Passes Away

SHAH ALAM, Nov 13 (Bernama) -- Johawaki Holdings Sdn Bhd group managing director and group chief executive officer Datuk Johari Mat passed away at 11.30 pm yesterday. He was 74.

His son, Mohamad Akmal Johari, who confirmed the news, said the deceased breathed his last at Avisena Hospital, Section 14, here.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in a Facebook post, conveyed his condolences to the family of the deceased.

Ahmad Zahid said Johari’s passing was a great loss to his family, friends and associates in the corporate sector.

“May Allah SWT forgive his sins and place him among His righteous servants,” he said, adding that he also had the opportunity to pay his last respects.

According to information shared by the family, Johari’s remains were taken to Surau Al-Munawarah, Section 13, for the first funeral prayers at 10 am. His remains will then be taken to Surau Khalid Al-Walid at the Selangor contingent police headquarters for the second funeral prayers before being laid to rest at the Section 21 Muslim Cemetery after the Zohor prayers.
