100 Pahang UMNO Members To Assist BN In Sabah Polls 

KUANTAN, Nov 13 (Bernama) -- Pahang UMNO will deploy 100 members to assist Barisan Nasional’s (BN) machinery in facing the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN), which involves 73 state constituencies.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail Wan Rosdy, who is also the Pahang Menteri Besar, said the number could be increased if necessary to strengthen the campaign operations in the targeted areas.  

“This is our tradition in Barisan Nasional and UMNO. Whenever there is a state or by-election, other states will also go down to the ground to help ensure the victory of BN candidates,” he told reporters at the Town Hall Pahang 1st Lecture Series held at the Pahang Foundation Complex here today.  

He said the assistance from Pahang UMNO’s election machinery will be focused in the Beluran district, which covers the Telupid, Sugut and Labuk constituencies, while in Kinabatangan district it will involve the Kuamut, Lamag and Sukau constituencies.  

Wan Rosdy added that Pahang UMNO will also send about 20 students from Sekolah Patriotik UMNO to join the mission as an exposure to the country’s democratic process.  

The Election Commission has set Nov 29 as polling day for the 17th Sabah State Election, with nomination day on Nov 15 and early voting on Nov 25.
