KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- More than 26,000 Haj offer letters for the 1447H/2026 season have been issued by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) after prospective pilgrims met the minimum savings requirement of RM15,000 in their respective accounts.
TH Haj Department head Mohd Hisham Harun said offer letters were only issued once prospective pilgrims fulfilled the ‘istitha’ah’ requirements, which include financial and health aspects.
“If the turn falls this year but the savings have not reached RM15,000, TH will not issue the offer letter. This ensures that pilgrims are truly prepared without financial burden,” he said at a press conference for the 4th Haj, Umrah and Tourism Carnival (KHUP4) pre-launch event here today.
According to him, of approximately 45,000 prospective pilgrims whose turn has arrived this season, there was still room to increase savings to qualify for a Haj offer.
TH has also opened appeals with priority given to three categories — mahram appeals, companions for pilgrims aged 75 and above, and pilgrims with disabilities — while other applications are considered based on merit.
Earlier, TH together with BUMITRA Malaysia announced that KHUP4 would be held from Nov 28 to 30 at the Movenpick Hotel & Convention Centre, Sepang, as a platform for the public to obtain information on Haj, Umrah, and tourism packages from 34 licensed Haj Pilgrimage Operators (PJH), including three new agencies.
The carnival will also feature exhibitions, talk sessions, colouring competitions, and performances by nasyid artists such as Raihan, Inteam, and Mawi.
