KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s Embassy in Seoul organised Festival Malaysia last Saturday, showcasing the country’s diverse offerings and rich cultural heritage to Korean market in conjunction with the upcoming Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).
The one-day event, held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza attracted about 7,000 visitors who enjoyed Malaysian hospitality and experience the country's cuisine, cultural performances, traditional games and products, the embassy said in a statement.
The festival brought together a total of 17 participating stakeholders, including Korean companies, local Malaysian restaurateurs, the Sabah Cultural Troupe from the Sabah Tourism Board, Sekolah Seni Malaysia Sabah (Malaysia Art School of Sabah), and members of the Malaysian diaspora.
The event also served as a vital platform to promote cultural exchange and strengthen ties between the two countries.
The festival was officiated by Malaysian Ambassador to South Korea Datuk Mohd Zamruni Khalid, together with the guest of honour, Deputy Director-General for ASEAN and Southeast Asian Affairs at the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs Gayeon Jung.
