Veteran Actor Dharma Harun Dies

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Veteran actor, Dharma Harun Al-Rashid, passed away at his residence in Wangsa Maju tonight due to health issues.

The news of his passing was shared by his second child, Muhammad Al Syafiq, 36, through a post on Instagram.

"My father passed away when I returned home just now, at 9:10 pm. Arrangements will be made at the Abu Ubaidah Mosque, Taman Sri Rampai," he said.

Dharma, 68, known for the film Adik Manja, had previously suffered from several health issues, including asthma, an enlarged heart and lungs, gastritis, and a thyroid problem.

In 2019, he suffered a stroke that affected his speech, and the effects of the stroke and other illnesses also diminished his memory, leaving him unable to work.

Besides Muhammad Al Syafiq, the deceased was also cared for by his daughter, Siti Qurratu Aini, 37, who is still pursuing her studies at the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara).

In February 2024, the Prime Minister, through his Political Secretary, Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, had presented a contribution to the popular actor of the 1980s era to assist with his daily expenses.
