Fahmi Expresses Condolences To Family Of Dharma Harun

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil has expressed his condolences to the entire family of veteran actor Dharma Harun Al Rashid, who reportedly passed away tonight.

Fahmi said he remembered the deceased as someone with a gentle, down-to-earth personality and who was respected by many.

"I am saddened to receive the news that artist Dharma Harun Al Rashid has passed away a short while ago. My meeting with the deceased at the Raya donation presentation ceremony for veteran artists at IPPTAR (Tun Abdul Razak Institute of Broadcasting and Information) earlier this year is still fresh in my memory.

"He was a gentle, down-to-earth person and respected by many. "May Allah SWT shower his blessings on the deceased's soul and place him among the faithful," he said in a Facebook post today.

He also prayed for the entire family of the deceased to be given strength and fortitude in facing the loss of their loved one.

Earlier, the news of the deceased's passing was shared by his second son Muhammad Al Syafiq, 36, through a post on Instagram.

In 2019, the deceased suffered a stroke that affected his speech, and the effects of a stroke and other illnesses also reduced his memory to the point that he was no longer able to work.

In February 2024, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, through his political secretary Datuk Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, presented a donation to the popular 1980s-era actor to help with his daily affairs.
