KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- There has yet to be a flood victim referred to hospital and no outbreak of disease among evacuees at relief centres, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad said.

Based on data from the Crisis Preparedness And Response Centre (CPRC) as of yesterday, 628 evacuees in relief centres have been checked, with 78 Acute Respiratory Infection cases recorded, along with 16 cases of skin infection, two Acute Gastroenteritis cases and a conjunctivitis case, he said

“Nine health facilities are affected by floods - three in Kelantan, four in Perak and two in Perlis. Seven of them are rural clinics as well as a health clinic and physiotherapy clinic,” he said after attending the Malaysia International Healthcare (MIH) Megatrends 2025 here today.

Eight health facilities are not operational but services have been moved to nearby health facilities and not affected by floods while one facility remains operational, he added.

He also pointed out that the Health Ministry (MOH) has a comprehensive action plan to ensure the continuity of services during the Northeast Monsoon period, including optimising workforce, equipment and logistics.

In addition, alternative facilities have been identified to ensure health services are not affected if major facilities are hit by floods, updating medicine supply and stocks of at least three months,” Dzulkefly said.

The MOH is also ready to mobilise special emergency medical teams, including Rapid Assessment Teams (RAT), Rapid Response Teams (RRT) and Medical Emergency Response Teams (MERT) for the floods, and have been conducting health checks at relief centres to identify public health aspects like providing psychosocial support to flood evacuees and conducting sanitation processes there.

As of this morning, 20,146 evacuees are being housed at 119 centres in eight states, with Pahang being the latest state hit by flooding.
