KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- The Ihsan MADANI Squad under the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), which brings together volunteers from agencies under the department to assist communities during disasters, was launched today.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said the launch was timely as the country is currently facing the Northeast Monsoon and the number of temporary relief centres is increasing in several states.

“Going forward, the squad will draw up plans and assign tasks based on the affected states. The squad did exist previously, but this year it has been organised in a more structured manner,” he said when met after the launch, held in conjunction with the Religious Affairs Agencies Gathering (MAHEA) 2025 here.

Also present was Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan.

Mohd Na’im also encouraged Malaysians to contribute to the Disaster Musa’adah Fund, jointly managed by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) and the Malaysian Waqf Foundation to assist flood victims, with account details to be announced soon.

“Malaysians are known for their generosity, and the contributions will be fully utilised to help those affected,” he said.

At the same event, Mohd Na’im launched Islam Mekar Bersama Malaysia MADANI book, which outlines the Al-Falah Transformation initiatives undertaken by religious affairs agencies over the past three years.

Mohd Na’im said the book serves as an important documentation of the department’s achievements and as proof of the prominence of Islam, and the agenda for ummah development continues to be strengthened under the Malaysia MADANI framework and counters claims that the position of Islam is under threat.
