KUDAT, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Sabahans are reminded not to vote for a political party that has failed to govern the state in the 17th Sabah state election, said Chief Minister and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
Instead, he advised Sabahans to vote for GRS that has shown good performance and has been able to govern Sabah well over the past five years.
“The GRS government has implemented various initiatives and programmes as well as increased economic development including revenue collection and state reserves. This is a success that the people should be proud of.
“We want to take Sabah to another level after this election to be on par with other states in the country,” he said at the Rumah Kita, Kita Jaga GRS Banggi and Tanjong Kapor campaign at Dataran Tomborungus Kudat here, today.
Also present were the GRS Banggi candidate Datuk Mohammad Mohamarin and GRS Tanjong Kapor candidate Datuk Chong Chen Bin.
Hajiji, who is also the GRS chairman, asked the people in Banggi and Tanjong Kapor constituencies to choose the party’s candidates as the people’s representatives in their areas in this state election.
He was also impressed with both candidates because they have their own vision to develop the area, especially in terms of education and infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Hajiji said the mandate given to GRS in the 17th Sabah polls would enable the agenda of Sabah Maju Jaya 2.0 Roadmap to continue in the future.
“In the past five years, we have developed the economy, brought in investors and created a new industrial park in Kudat known as the Blue Economy Industrial Park.
“This will definitely provide job opportunities for the residents of this district,” he said, while once again reminding the people not to be easily influenced by any leader or party who claims GRS as a failed government.
