KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 28 (Bernama) -- A total of 49 health facilities have been affected, with 19 of them closed and their operations relocated following floods that hit seven states in Peninsular Malaysia, said Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad.

He said that based on a report from the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre (CPRC) as of 3 pm yesterday, 27 of these facilities continue to operate with adjustments, while three are not operating in Perlis.

“A total of 345 medical and health teams have been deployed to the affected areas,” he said in a Facebook post.

Dzulkefly said the seven states still affected by floods are Kelantan, Perak, Kedah, Perlis, Terengganu, Selangor and Pahang, with 27,955 victims housed in 222 temporary relief centres (PPS) as of 3 pm yesterday.

He said 2,083 victims have received treatment so far, comprising 376 cases of acute respiratory infection, 92 skin infections, 15 cases of acute gastroenteritis and four cases of conjunctivitis.

“No disease outbreaks have been detected at any PPS. Two flood-related deaths have been reported in Kelantan,” he added.
