Senior Citizen Killed In Hit And Run Crash

KUCHING, 30 Nov (Bernama) -- A 63-year-old man died after the bicycle he was riding was believed to have been hit by a vehicle on Jalan Tanjung Lipat, Batu Niah, yesterday evening.

Miri police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the 5.30 pm incident occurred as the victim was cycling from Pasar Batu Niah towards Kampung Tanjung Lipat when he was believed to have been struck by an oncoming vehicle.

He said the victim died at the scene from severe injuries. The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
