Selangor Revenue Hits RM2.7 Bln, Exceeds Target For 2025

SHAH ALAM, Dec 10 (Bernama) -- Selangor has recorded RM2.7 billion in revenue to date, surpassing this year’s initial target of RM2.3 billion.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the strong performance was the result of coordinated efforts by the entire team across all levels of the state administration.

“Alhamdulillah, we have exceeded our target of RM2.3 billion. In the (2026) Budget announcement recently, I mentioned that we could reach RM2.7 billion, and today we’ve already surpassed that figure.

“Let’s wait until Dec 31 to see whether we can achieve even better results. We are certain it will exceed RM2.7 billion, but I won’t reveal the figure yet as we are still waiting for several payments related to land matters,” he told reporters after the handover ceremony of funds for Selangor mosques and surau at the foyer of the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Building here today.

During the tabling of the Selangor Budget 2026 on Nov 14, Amirudin said state revenue collections had reached RM2.49 billion as of Nov 13, 2025, exceeding the earlier full-year projection of RM2.35 billion by more than 106 per cent.

Commenting on suggestions for the state to increase cash assistance to flood victims, Amirudin said the current priority is to prevent disasters by ensuring flood mitigation projects are implemented and completed as soon as possible.

“What needs to be done is to continue these projects or expedite the flood mitigation works. What happened in Hulu Langat, for example, was because phase two of the Sungai Langat flood mitigation project was not completed.

“When I checked, it was still at the design stage. That means the project has not commenced on-site. If works had already started on-site, the flood risk could have been reduced or at least mitigated more effectively,” he said.

Meanwhile, a total of 20 mosques and surau in Selangor received RM2.47 million in allocations for development and maintenance works.

Amirudin said allocation for the 11 mosques and nine surau was channelled through the Kumpulan Wang Amanah Bantuan Dana Pembinaan Dan Penyelenggaraan Masjid dan Institusi Islam Selangor.

He added that the fund would be used to finance various urgent needs, including structural repairs, upgrading of existing facilities such as public address systems, air-conditioning units and ablution areas.
