KUALA TERENGGANU, Dec 21 (Bernama) -- The floods in Terengganu have fully recovered as all 571 individuals from 155 families in Kemaman were allowed to return to their respective homes.
Terengganu Civil Defence Force (APM) Director, Civil Defence Colonel (PA) Mohd Zul Khairi Shamsuddin, stated that all of them were previously housed at a temporary evacuation centre (PPS) at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Bukit Mentok.
He said all victims were allowed to return to their residences at 6:00 pm today following improving weather conditions.
However, Mohd Zul Khairi advised the public to remain vigilant and be prepared to evacuate to a PPS if their residential areas start to be inundated by water.
"During this Northeast Monsoon season, residents in flood-prone areas must stay alert to the warnings issued by the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) and be ready to move to a safer location," he said when contacted by Bernama tonight.
