MELAKA, Jan 10 (Bernama) -- The Hang Tuah Jaya Parliamentary Service Centre spent more than RM600,000 on education-related initiatives in the constituency last year.

Hang Tuah Jaya Member of Parliament and Deputy Minister of Higher Education Adam Adli Abd Halim said the expenditure included contributions to Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), assistance for school fees, as well as the provision of laptops for underprivileged pupils and students.

“In the Hang Tuah Jaya parliamentary constituency, we are indeed placing strong emphasis on efforts to support the education agenda.

“I hope these initiatives will continue to receive the support of all parties to ensure that children in Hang Tuah Jaya have access to better educational opportunities,” he said.

He said this after officiating the Back-to-School programme organised by the Hang Tuah Jaya Parliamentary Service Centre at a supermarket here today.

At the programme, 500 recipients received school bags and cash vouchers to purchase school supplies.

Meanwhile, Adam Adli said he would focus on key sectors, including education, welfare, health and infrastructure, this year.

He added that he would intensify strategic cooperation with various parties to further expand efforts to assist those in need in the Hang Tuah Jaya parliamentary constituency.
