JBPM Earns Praise From PM Anwar For Quick Action In Controlling Fire At Kampung Bellamy

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 23 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim praised the swift action of the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) for successfully controlling a fire in Kampung Bellamy, here today.

In a post on the X platform, he said the high fighting spirit shown by the firefighters reflects their commitment to ensuring the safety of the people.

“The quick action of this fire department team deserves praise for successfully controlling the fire with efficiency and discipline, thereby saving lives and property,” he said.

Earlier, media reported that three squatter houses, two freezer containers, and two vehicles were destroyed in the fire near the Nirvana cemetery area, Jalan Kwangyi, Kampung Bellamy here, at approximately 7:30 am today.

However, the fire was successfully contained without any loss of life, thanks to the swift intervention of the fire department.
