SEREMBAN, Jan 24 (Bernama) — Police received a report yesterday regarding alleged abuse of a three-year-old boy believed to have occurred at a daycare centre in Seremban 2 Heights here.

Seremban District Police Chief ACP Azahar Abdul Rahim said the report was lodged by the victim’s mother, aged in her 30s, at 11.31 pm after she received information and images via social media showing redness on her child’s left cheek.

“Initial investigations found that the incident is believed to have taken place in June last year while the victim was at the daycare centre.

“In this regard, police have recorded statements from four witnesses who are caregivers and the manager of the daycare centre. We are continuing investigations to take action against the individuals involved in accordance with the law,” he said in a statement here today.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and advised the public not to make any speculation regarding the incident that could interfere with investigations.

Earlier, a woman shared on social media the incident involving her young son.
