SHAH ALAM, Feb 3 (Bernama) -- Selangor Football Club (Selangor FC) will continue to provide full cooperation to the authorities and is open to discuss with any group of supporters to ensure the safety of local football.
Selangor FC expressed its deepest regret over the burning of a flare involving a minority of fans at the Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge, Terangganu before last Sunday’s Super League match against Terengganu FC.
“The club will not compromise and condemns any behaviour that violates the law and threatens public safety.
“The club would like to stress that such misconduct is against the values championed by Selangor FC and the Selangor football fraternity,” the club said in a statement today.
Selangor FC also expressed its appreciation to the Terengganu police for the stern action taken to protect public safety and order, adding that fans should always have a responsible attitude, show mutual respect and unite to nurture a more positive and healthy football fan culture.
A total of 33 Selangor FC fans were remanded yesterday to facilitate investigations over the incident at the bridge.
