PMR Perak 2026 Meets Goal Of Bringing Services To People

05/04/2026 05:50 PM

IPOH, April 5 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) Perak 2026 has achieved its main objective of bringing public services closer to the people through the provision of various direct service touchpoints for the local community.

Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu said the large-scale programme serves as an important platform to enhance access to government services at the grassroots level, ensuring benefits reach all segments of society.

She said the initiative, introduced in 2024, has proven effective in delivering services directly to the public.

“Today alone, 34 ministries are involved, offering about 230 direct services and touchpoints that can be accessed by the people.

“Our objective is to bring these services to the grassroots level and this has been clearly achieved,” she told reporters after attending PMR Perak 2026 at Bulatan Sultan Azlan Shah, Meru Raya here today.

Aiman Athirah said the programme’s success was driven by strong synergy between the federal and state governments, as well as the involvement of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and government-linked companies (GLCs).

She said the collaboration also includes stakeholders providing services such as i-Biaya, introduced to facilitate access to housing financing schemes.

“This reflects strong teamwork and the ‘stronger together’ spirit, particularly within the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT), where our programmes are built on collaboration,” she said.

On public response, she said attendance had reached about 149,000 visitors as of yesterday, surpassing the initial target of 100,000 even before the programme concluded.

“This encouraging response shows that the people, especially in Perak, are receptive to the MADANI Rakyat programmes,” she added.
