Iran Health Ministry: Seven Children Dead After US Strike

06/04/2026 08:32 PM

TEHRAN, April 6 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- The number of children killed in the United States (US) strikes on Tehran has risen to seven, Iranian Health Ministry press chief Hossein Kermanpour said on Monday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

Earlier in the day, Press TV reported that at least six children had been killed in overnight US and Israeli strikes in Tehran province.

"Last night, US warplanes struck Tehran. Seven children under 10 were killed – one was under a year old, barely identifiable," Kermanpour wrote on the social media platform X.

On February 28, the US and Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties.

Iran responded by striking Israeli territory and US military facilities in West Asia.

The US and Israel claimed their "preemptive" attack was necessary to counter the perceived threat coming from Iran's nuclear programme.
