US Rapper Offset Injured In Florida Shooting

WASHINGTON, April 7 (Bernama-dpa) -- United States (US) rapper Offset has been shot and injured in Florida, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

“We can confirm that Offset has been shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care," a spokesman told US broadcaster ABC News and the industry magazine Variety.

"He is stable and being closely monitored," the spokesman added.

According to police, the incident took place on Monday evening outside a hotel and casino.

Two people have been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing, ABC reported. No further details were initially available.

Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was previously married to the singer Cardi B and has three children with her.

He rose to fame as part of the Grammy-nominated hip-hop trio Migos, who enjoyed success with hits such as "Versace," "Bad and Boujee", and "MotorSport."

In November 2022, another Migos member, the rapper Takeoff, was shot dead in the Texan city of Houston. A 33-year-old man was later charged with murder.
