TEHRAN, Apr 19 (Bernama-MNA) -- The commander of Iran’s Joint Air Defence Headquarters said that Iranian forces shot down as many as 170 advanced enemy drones during the 40-day US-Israeli war, including sophisticated UAVs, Mehr News Agency (MNA) reported.
Brigadier General Alireza Elhami, in a televised interview on Saturday, said Iran’s integrated air defence network played a key role in countering US and Israeli aerial aggression during the period.
Elhami said the destroyed drones were not simple systems, but advanced platforms equipped with self-protection systems, armed capabilities, and sophisticated reconnaissance technologies.
He noted that among the drones shot down by Iran are advanced models such as Hermes 900, MQ-9, and Heron.
