NIBONG TEBAL, May 15 (Bernama) -- Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek today announced an allocation of RM315,000 to upgrade teachers’ rooms and install air conditioners in schools around the Nibong Tebal parliamentary constituency in conjunction with the 2026 Teachers’ Day celebration.

Fadhlina, who is also Nibong Tebal MP, said RM105,000 of the total allocation would be used for upgrading teachers’ rooms at four schools, namely SMK Tunku Abdul Rahman, SK Saujana Indah, SJK(C) Kampung Jawi and SJK(T) Ladang Transkrian.

She said an additional RM210,000 would be channelled through the Nibong Tebal Parliamentary Constituency Service Centre for the installation of air conditioners in teachers’ rooms involving all 42 schools in the area.

“The Ministry of Education (MOE) has implemented various initiatives to ensure the well-being and welfare of educators are given due attention, including continuous efforts to address teachers’ workload.

“The upgrading of teachers’ rooms and installation of air conditioners are among the measures taken to improve teachers’ comfort while at school,” she said in a statement today.

According to the statement, Fadhlina visited the four schools before announcing the allocation in conjunction with this year’s Teachers’ Day celebration.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had previously announced the implementation of an RM100 million initiative to upgrade teachers’ rooms in schools nationwide during the launch of the Malaysia Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026-2035 in January this year.
