KUALA LUMPUR, May 30 (Bernama) --  The "Be Smart, Avoid Scam: Scam Awareness For Everyone” (SAFE) programme continues to raise public awareness of digital fraud threats, said Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

In a Facebook post today, he said the programme aims to educate the public on current digital scam tactics, ways to protect themselves online, and safer financial management practices.

"Call 997 immediately if you become a victim of fraud. Scammers today are becoming increasingly cunning. Anyone can fall victim if they are not constantly vigilant," he advised.

Earlier, he attended the SAFE programme, organised jointly by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and the Subzone 2 Lembah Pantai Residents' Representative Council at the Gujarati Association Hall in Bangsar Park.

The programme drew about 120 participants, including senior citizens and Bangsar residents.

Fahmi expressed hope that more Malaysians will benefit from the programme, so that they and their families can be better protected from digital scams.
