Parents, Community Crucial To Success Of RPM 2026-2035 - Fadhlina

KUALA LUMPUR, May 31 (Bernama) -- The involvement of all parties, including parents and the community, is one of the main factors in ensuring the success of the country’s education direction over the next decade through the Malaysian Education Blueprint (RPM) 2026-2035, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

She said there is a need for strong commitment and support from all parties, especially in the implementation of the new preschool and school curricula next year.

“The implementation of the new preschool curriculum has already begun and the expansion of preschool classes is being actively carried out nationwide. Next year, we will begin implementing a new school curriculum involving Year One and Form One children.

“All of this will only be successful with the strong commitment and support from all parties, including parents and the wider community. For example, the reading sessions introduced for preschool children require the commitment of parents to spend time reading with their children. The same goes for other initiatives that require everyone’s cooperation,” she posted on Facebook today.

Earlier, Fadhlina attended a session with educators, Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) and the Parent, Community and Private Sector Involvement (PIBKS) in the Ayer Molek and Pengkalan Batu areas in Melaka.

At the session, she said Melaka needed to use the good performance in last year’s Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination as a stepping stone to go further and strengthen the state’s education ecosystem.

She also presented an allocation worth RM280,000 for the upgrading of teachers’ rooms, benefiting 13 schools.

“Hopefully, this initiative will provide greater comfort for teachers, thus spurring them to give their best in carrying out their responsibilities in educating the children,” she added.
