KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 (Bernama) -- The remains of Datuk Kamil Misuari, the husband of Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri, are scheduled to be flown to Kuching, Sarawak, at 11 am tomorrow to be laid to rest at the Samariang Muslim Cemetery.
The Office of the Minister of Women, Family and Community Development said the remains would be flown from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Kuching on flight MH2520 and are expected to arrive at Kuching International Airport at 12.50 pm.
“After clearance procedures at the airport, which are expected to take between 60 and 90 minutes, the remains will be taken to Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri’s official residence and are expected to arrive there at 2.50 pm.
“Funeral prayers will be held at the official residence at 4.40 pm before the remains are taken to the Samariang Muslim Cemetery for burial,” it said in a statement.
Earlier, about 250 family members and close friends attended the funeral prayers for the deceased at the National Mosque here tonight.
The prayers were led by National Mosque imam Ustaz Zainul Hilmi Abd Jalil.
A Bernama check at the National Mosque found that a sombre atmosphere enveloped the mosque during the recitation of Surah Yasin and the final respects for the deceased before the remains were taken to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) at about 11.20 pm.
