KUALA LUMPUR, June 3  (Bernama) -- The National Service Training Department (JLKN) has introduced the M.E.N.H.A.N Strategic Core as a guiding framework in its efforts to transform the department into a “character development factory” for Malaysia’s young generation.

JLKN director-general Major General Datuk Marzuki Mokhtar said the strategic framework was designed to produce disciplined, resilient and high-integrity human capital, while strengthening national integration, unity and patriotism in safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty.

The M.E.N.H.A.N core comprises Motivation (M), Ethics (E), Values (N), Hope (H), Aspiration (A) and Statesmanship (N).

“JLKN personnel must cultivate a strong work ethic, be proactive and mission-oriented, while making integrity and good governance the foundation of the organisation without any compromise on misconduct,” he said in a video message delivered in his capacity as the department’s new director-general today.

Marzuki said the appreciation of noble values such as discipline, unity and responsibility remains a crucial element in shaping the identity and character of trainees, further reinforcing JLKN’s role as an institution that provides direction and instils confidence among youth to face future challenges.

He also stressed the importance of modernising the department through innovation and the adoption of digital technologies to ensure its training programmes remain relevant, competitive and recognised at the global level.

At the same time, Marzuki called on all JLKN personnel to embody the principles of the M.E.N.H.A.N Strategic Core in their daily duties, strengthen professional collaboration and consistently prioritise the safety and welfare of trainees.
