BATU KAWAN, June 18 (Bernama) – Electronics manufacturing services (EMS) provider Winner Sky Technology Sdn Bhd has opened its new 60,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Batu Kawan, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory and reinforcing its long-term commitment to Malaysia as a base for high-value electronics manufacturing.
In a joint statement, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Invest Penang and Winner Sky Technology said the facility, which officially opened on June 6, triples the company’s production footprint and anchors a total investment commitment of RM70 million over five years.
They said the company currently employs approximately 150 people and plans to expand its workforce to more than 450 over the same period.
The grand opening was officiated by Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and attended by MIDA Penang director Muhammad Ghaddaffi Sardar Mohamed, Alltronics Holdings Ltd chairman Lam Yin Kee and Winner Sky Technology Malaysia chief executive officer Eric Lam Chee Tai.
Established in 2019, Winner Sky Technology has evolved from a modest operation into a trusted EMS provider serving customers in industrial electronics, energy control systems and the Internet-of-Things (IoTs).
Headquartered in Hong Kong, with manufacturing operations across China, Vietnam and Malaysia, the company said its expansion in Penang reflects confidence in the country’s talent pool and industrial ecosystem.
The statement added that the new facility is equipped with the latest Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines, integrated Smart Factory systems and Industry 4.0 capabilities, enhancing production capacity and enabling the company to deliver innovative electronic manufacturing solutions to customers worldwide.
Meanwhile, MIDA chief executive officer Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said Winner Sky Technology’s decision to anchor a major expansion in Malaysia was a strong endorsement of the country’s skilled workforce, competitive industrial ecosystem and the government’s firm commitment to facilitating quality investments.
He said the investment was precisely the type of high-value, technology-intensive foreign investment (FI) that Malaysia’s New Industrial Master Plan (NIMP) 2030 was designed to attract and retain.
“Beyond the capital investment, what stands out here is the genuine commitment to local workforce development, supply chain integration, and technology transfer — the building blocks of sustainable industrial growth.
“MIDA will continue to work closely with investors like Winner Sky Technology to ensure Malaysia remains a preferred destination for advanced manufacturing,” he said.
The joint statement said the company expects the new facility to drive substantial business growth through increased production capacity, improved operational efficiency and higher-value manufacturing services, with revenue projected to increase by about threefold over the coming years.
