Strong Earthquake Strikes Russia, No Tsunami Threat To Malaysia - MetMalaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, June 19 (Bernama) -- A strong earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale was detected off the east coast of Kamchatka, Russia, at 2.52 pm today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said in a statement that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres (km), with its epicentre located 128 km east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatskiy, Russia. 

However, an initial assessment found that there is no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
