KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2024: Sustainable Development Goals International Innovation Awards & Expo (SDG IIAE) will be held virtually from Oct 16 to 18.
Organised by PROTEMT Exhibitions and Conferences Sdn Bhd, this prestigious event stands at the forefront of global efforts to foster innovative solutions that advance the United Nations SDGs.
“Dedicated to recognising and promoting exceptional innovations that contribute to sustainable development across various sectors, including clean energy, water and sanitation, sustainable agriculture and climate action, the expo aims to catalyse partnerships that drive progress towards achieving the SDGs,” said a statement made available to Bernama.
The 2023 edition of the awards received 165 innovation entries competing in five main categories, embracing all 17 SDGs. The event garnered 3,316 trade visitors from 12 countries over the three-day period.
Meanwhile, MTE 2024 has so far attracted 2,500 attendees, with 45 nominations from 10 countries,
The statement said the awards represents a unique convergence of vision, creativity and action, offering participants the opportunity to engage in the latest sustainable technologies, as well as exchange ideas and form alliances that can lead to real-world impact.
“In an era where collaboration is key to overcoming global challenges, the expo fosters a collaborative environment which encourages participants to think beyond boundaries and work together towards a sustainable future,” it added.
MTE 2024 provides a unique stage for innovators committed to sustainability. By participating in this expo, attendees will engage with a diverse community of professionals, including researchers, investors, policymakers and fellow innovators.

The comprehensive range of award categories reflects the diverse and multifaceted nature of sustainable development. The five main categories are Well-Being, Inclusivity, Human Capital, Environment & Natural Resources, and Economic Growth.
