KUALA LUMPUR, July 17 (Bernama) -- The presence of media practitioners covering the FELDA Settlers Day 2024 celebration at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) recently demonstrated a strong rapport with the Felda community.
As a gesture of appreciation for their comprehensive coverage of the event held from July 12-14, Felda organised a media appreciation dinner tonight.
Felda deputy director-general (Community Development) Datuk Mohd Banuri Aris said media coverage is crucial in disseminating news regarding Felda's initiatives and programmes.
“It's undeniable that effective communication starts with the media. They play a vital role in spreading our message,” he told reporters after the dinner.
The FELDA Settlers Day 2024 celebrations were a huge success, attracting over 500,000 visitors during the three-day event.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also announced plans to merge the Rural Entrepreneurs Carnival with FELDA Settlers Day next year under the management of the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
