MOSCOW, July 29 (Bernama-Sputnik) -- Russia praises Malaysia's balanced stance on the Ukraine conflict, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Sunday, reported Sputnik.
"We talked about Ukraine. We expressed our gratitude to our Malaysian colleagues for their balanced, objective position, which comes from an understanding of the root causes of this crisis, which has developed as a result of the West's actions to pull Ukraine into NATO and turn it, as we say, into an anti-Russian country," Lavrov said at a press conference following his visit to Malaysia.
Lavrov also said he had invited his counterpart, Malaysian Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, to pay a return visit to Russia, expecting to continue communication in the foreseeable future.
