30/07/2024 12:58 AM

TAWAU, July 29 (Bernama) -- The public is being notified that the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) will conduct tactical flight training for low-level air assets around Tawau, Semporna and Lahad Datu from Aug 1-10.

The RMAF said in a statement today that the 2024 Kelawar (Bat) Exercise will be carried out in the Op Pasir area involving helicopter assets and the RMAF Special Forces, even during nighttime.

Accordingly, the RMAF hoped that the public would not be alarmed or worried if they saw low-flying aircraft throughout the 10 days of the air exercise.

The statement said the exercise aims to strengthen the readiness and efficiency of the air crew.

“The exercise also enhances tactical flight operations when facing conflicts and threats at night,” it said.
