GOLDEN JUBILEE: MEXICO AND MALAYSIA VOW TO STRENGTHEN TIES

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- Mexico and Malaysia reaffirmed their commitment to elevating bilateral relations to greater heights during the Mexico-Malaysia 50th diplomatic anniversary celebration today.

Bilateral relations between Malaysia and Mexico were established on March 27, 1974.

Mexican Ambassador to Malaysia, Luis Javier Campuzano Pina, highlighted the significant growth in trade, education, and cultural diplomacy over the past five decades.

“May the ties between Mexico and Malaysia continue to prosper,” he said during the celebration organised by the Embassy of Mexico in Malaysia here today.

Meanwhile, Malaysia’s Foreign Ministry Americas Division Undersecretary Datuk Yubazlan Yusof who represented the Malaysian government at the event noted that Malaysia and Mexico have enjoyed immense benefits from political, economic, and cultural cooperation.

“This golden jubilee is a celebration of shared commitment and a time for both nations to explore new opportunities based on the continuous strong foundation, he said.

Yubazlan emphasised that the Malaysian government values its longstanding partnership with Mexico and hopes that the 50th anniversary celebration will pave the way for even stronger bilateral ties in the future.

During the celebration, guests were treated to Mexican cuisine and cultural performances from both Mexico and Malaysia.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Mexico was established in 1992.
